How to Enhance the Power of Your Green Laser Pointer

Actually, there are different types of laser pointers on the market, and they all have certain variations in their functionality and features.

Amongst all, a green laser pointer provides almost the most visible and the brightest beam compared to any other laser colour. In respect of the foregoing, even the low-power green laser beam of 5mW is quite visible in the night or in the presence of smoke.

Nonetheless, most users of this type of laser like to safely increase the beam's strength.

For safety reasons, green laser pointers are generally restricted to 5mW power; you may not easily find higher definitions on the market.

If there is any credible retailer who can provide you with high quality laser products, you would have your needs met, though it could be costly.

On the other hand, if you desire to get a cheaper option, then you should buy green pointers and modify them for greater power output.
Compared with red lasers, the 532nm crystal of green laser could be quite difficult to handle.

You need a sottering kit for your laser modification.

Unscrew the end-cap of the laser and remove the power source or its batteries.

If the crystal diode is a type that is removable, then you can modify the device.
Otherwise, any attempt to work on the system will damage it.

This is often the case of high-precision diodes which should be left in their solid states.
If you try to modify them, you will cause the beam to become dispersed. In this case, you'll need an expert to perform the modification procedures.
For a removable diode, find the round-shaped green laser diode.

It is similar to a pin's flat end and also resembles a DVD/CD laser eye.
Having worn safety goggles, heat up the sottering kit.
Then, use it to heat the diode crystal until the round-shaped crystal becomes visibly changed and molded from its original form to become an oval-shaped diode. Then, return the modified diode, the batteries and the end-cap.
Switch on the green pointer to check if the output power of the beam has increased.

If the beam is more concentrated, then the laser power output has been enhanced; otherwise, the procedure one way or the other falls must have been faulty.
That's why it is sometimes advisable to find an expert who can do it for you.

Generally, the best bet that you can have on your need for a a laser pointer is to buy the one that has higher power output. If your budget is small, then buy a green pointer of 50mW and try to modify its green beam.
