Math Teacher Tips - How to Get Students to Like and Succeed in Math
Of all the subjects taught in school, the subject of mathematics invariably ranks at the top of the list as one of the hardest subjects for students. They struggle to understand it, they don't enjoy it, and consequentially, they don't achieve highly in it. However, to a young student who is also learning about science or language or arts, the subject of numbers does not have to be any harder than the others. It contains new concepts that are no more foreign to the developing mind than any of the other subjects. But why do students always point to math as their least favorite subject in school? A natural aptitude for other fields is always a possibility for some individuals, yet for most it is probably a result of teaching styles in the classroom failing to properly engage the student, combined with limited support beyond the classroom, adding up to an overwhelming lack of interest in the subject altogether that compounds over the years.
Before placing blame on any person or system for the failure of a student to succeed with math, it must first be considered that they just may not have a natural aptitude for it. For some, even having a focused and enriched educational environment will not make them a math scholar, as they just may be better suited for something else. In this case, support and encouragement must be provided to help them overcome their difficulties. Ideally, teaching styles should be customized and extracurricular assistance provided to keep the student engaged and motivated to persevere. A large part of any attainable success is keeping the student interested and wanting to succeed. Of course, on that note, proper encouragement should also be given to help them pursue their more natural aptitudes in other subjects. Forcing a student to focus solely on math instead of allowing time for more favorable subjects won't necessarily help their grades, but rather breed resentment and have them dislike it (and the educator/parent) even more.
On the other hand, for most students, the dislike for math does not arise from within the student, but is a product of poor teaching. Far too often, math concepts are presented as strings of numbers in boring, old textbooks that struggle to engage the student, let alone explain the concepts in understandable terms. In addition, if this is how the basic math concepts are presented, the student will struggle much more when trying to learn advanced concepts; they must first build a solid foundation of basics before adding complexity. Educators would do better to explain the concepts with real-life examples rather than relying on an outdated textbook. A lively and thought-provoking discussion about what is being taught will engage the student in the material. Instead of relying on pre-made worksheets and a curriculum passed down through the years, creativity in teaching methods will be fresh and welcomed by students. Connect the subject to things that students already have an interest in and can understand, such as sports, fashion, or other popular interests/hobbies. Demonstrate the importance of these concepts to their lives and they will grasp the usefulness of them. If a student enjoys what they are learning, they are more likely to understand the concepts and be able to apply them.
In addition, teaching need not end when the student leaves the classroom; a lack of support outside of the school can leave a questioning student unsure of how to find answers, resulting in frustration. Having a home environment that is encouraging and patient will be beneficial to the student. Parents should go over troubling areas with their children, trying to explain any problems in terms that are understandable. Study groups with friends are a great way of stimulating discussion on difficult concepts, and the varying point of views will often lead to a greater understanding of the topic. Many websites on the Internet can explain concepts in a different way, which may be all that is needed. Tutorial centers are also a very good resource. A support network that goes beyond the classroom will greatly help the student to understand the concepts, and in turn, be able to enjoy them.
Math doesn't need to be the most feared and hated of school subjects. When provided with proper support, an engaging curriculum, and access to resources, those who would otherwise say that they don't like math would hopefully achieve the level of understanding they need to succeed in it.

Ecourse Training - Q&A on How to Make Money With Your Ecourse
Ecourses are the cornerstone to your entire internet business. They can be used for almost every aspect of your business. Today, we'll answer some questions about how to make money with your ecourses.
Question: How do I gauge what I charge for my ecourse?
I get the question quite a bit. The answer is, there is no set answer. The thing to remember is people pay for information, whether it's in an ecourse or other types of products. What they pay for the information YOU provide rests on YOUR shoulders. Are you known on the internet? Do people WANT the information you provide? What have you done to make people aware you have great information?
Question: How to use a "free" course to make money.
Just to make sure you know my mindset, I believe you're in business to make money. Therefore, everything you do within your business should be designed to make money. If you offer a free ecourse (which I recommend), then design it in a way to make people know you have even MORE in depth information for them. Whether it's another ecourse or other products, the point is to offer THAT product to your subscribers for a price. So, you're turning your free ecourse in a money making product.
Question: How lucrative are they?
Ecourses are what they are. Another way of saying this an ecourse is what you put into it. The lucrativeness (is that a word?) of your ecourse cannot be measured because each one is different and designed with different pieces of information within it. An analogy would be to ask yourself, how many ears of corn can you get from one kernel of corn? Whole corn field can become possible from one little kernel of corn, couldn't it?
Question: What are people willing to pay for that isn't already all over the Internet!
This question has been floating around since the beginning of the internet. Why would someone pay for something they could get for free? The simple answer is convenience and "I want it now" type attitude. How many people take their family out to see a movie at the cinima where they're spending $10/ticket when that movie will come out on DVD in a couple of months and could be rented for a one time charge $5? Same thing with ecourses, make it simple for people to get and they won't go looking elsewhere for it. It's basic human nature.

GRE OR GMAT? Confused?
Graduate and postgraduate students are getting increasingly confounded between choosing from GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) and GRE (Graduate Record Exam) for pursuing a prestigious business degree abroad. Starting 2006-07, with a view to enhance student diversity, many business schools had begun admitting students on the basis of GRE scores, traditionally used for admission criteria for engineering, history, science, psychology etc. Within a span of three years, over 800 b-schools accepted GRE; the acceptance having grown by 200%. It included premium business and Ivy League schools such as Yale, Wharton, Harvard Business Schools, INSEAD, Columbia University, Stanford and MIT.
With this crucial option, more and more students are trying to figure which test would work to their advantage. The scores of both the tests are valid for 5 years and the sections of the test are almost similar. Although both the tests are equally competitive, there are some aspects in which they differ.
1. Cost and Accessibility: The GMAT ($250) is more expensive than GRE ($140). This can be a crucial factor since many students opt for retakes. The number of test taking centres is greater for GRE.
2. What does it test: The GRE and GMAT are both made up of verbal, analytical writing and quantitative sections. A key differentiator is the prominence of vocabulary in the verbal section of GRE. In GMAT however, critical reasoning (which does not form a part of GRE) accounts for one third of verbal section. The quantitative sections are relatively similar comprising number theory, arithmetic, statistics, algebra, geometry and probability; as also is the writing sections.
3. Preparation Time: Evaluate where you stand in terms of skill sets for the respective sections. Take diagnostic GMAT and GRE preparation test which will help analyze this.
4. Difficulty levels: The difficulty is entirely subjective and is dependent on the student profile, strengths, expertise and skills. Every assessment involves different skillsets. Both tests also require the same amount of preparation and time management skills.
5. Acceptability: While GMAT is acceptable in all B schools, GRE is still gaining ground, although rapidly. B-Schools have statistics on GMAT but not much on the GRE and it is only recently that US News started including GRE Scores in their ranking comparison charts which plays a major role in increasing the perception of the GRE as on par with GMAT.
Though GMAT still remains the clear option for students who want to pursue a business degree, students who want to pursue a dual degree like MBA and public policy or engineering students who aren't sure of whether to pursue an MS or MBA, opt for the GRE.
It is important to do your homework. Contact the admissions department of your shortlisted schools and check with them regarding their admission criteria. You can then accordingly evaluate your skill sets through mock GMAT GRE tests and understand which testing method suits your profile better. Keep in mind your long term objectives and career aspirations which can provide a major cue for you to decide between the two tests.

What is an Online Tutor?
Something like an online tutor can be pretty valuable, especially when a person just has too many other responsibilities in his or her life to make it back to the school or elsewhere in order to gain a little bit more remediation. It is mainly the case that an online tutoring service is usually offered along with an online class or in a class that's a little bit online and a little bit in-school.
Sometimes, the online tutor is a software program that is set up to be interactive and capable of bringing a student who might be struggling a little along the way to full understanding. This can be really important, as more than a few people these days have issues or problems with getting back into the swing of things in a classroom.
Additionally, a person who might be struggling a little should never be fearful of asking for assistance, though many might. Sometimes this is the case when people who are a bit older than the average student returned to school for the first time in a long while. Usually, these folks gain the most benefit from using an online tutor.
So, what is there that needs to be understood about something like using this kind of tutoring service? First of all, people should understand that an online tutor or an online software program that does tutoring will mean that the person getting the tutoring is going to have to have some discipline in keeping to a schedule. Many folks, however, don't have such discipline at first.
If that is the case, they perhaps should think about engaging the services of a real live tutor who can meet with them face to face on occasion. Online tutoring services for these people could end up being a waste of time and money for them. Also, people need to get used to the idea that their learning environment is going to come to them through their computer's monitor. This can sometimes be a challenge.
If the online tutor is actually someone at the other end of a DSL or cable modem, and not just an intuitive software program, it might be a good idea to check out their credentials or references to see if other people have had success with them. Usually, anybody certified as being capable of tutoring online has it all together.
In this day and age and online tutor can be a good resource that can make it possible for people to keep up with the pace of learning in a classroom or online classroom environment, especially if the last classroom they saw was back in high school many years ago. Plus, such a tutor can help a person get really good test scores and final grades.

Online Associate Degree - Creating a Competitive and Rewarding Career
More than ever before, a good education provides people with the competitive edge they need to improve the overall quality of their lives. A broader world perspective, increased self-confidence, and access to more prosperous job opportunities are just some of the advantages of continued education.
Luckily, education programs such as an online associate degree have adapted over the years to accommodate the rapid pace of society and the new access to information afforded to us by the Internet. The numerous benefits of earning an online education have caused many people around the world to seriously consider heading back to class, via the comfort of their own home.
Many universities, business colleges, privately-run junior colleges, and government-operated community colleges have recognized that academic institutions need not be limited by their location or their students' location. Over the last decade, many schools have seen the advantages of not only accommodating people's busy lifestyles, but also of harnessing the communication capabilities of the Internet to design more flexible education programs that allow students to learn online.
People who are considering earning an online associate degree will first want to find out what sort of job opportunities the degree can open up for them. Some of many examples include a career as a registered nurse, LPN, CNA, as well as other positions in the stable and lucrative healthcare sector. Those interested in pursuing a career as a dental hygienist can study dental hygiene, while those who want to get in on the ground-floor of a booming technology company might consider pursuing a degree in computer networking, computer programming or computer science. Your choices can be endless, just make sure you make the right choice for you.
The flexibility offered by distance education may appeal to different people for any number of reasons, depending on their lifestyle. For caregivers, parents of small children, and those with home-based businesses, learning online allows them to maintain close contact on the home front as well as save money that might otherwise be spent on sitters or caretakers. Cost savings are also seen in the elimination of commuting costs like gas, bridge tolls and transit fares.
Learning from the comfort of one's home also minimizes the distractions typical of a classroom setting. With the current capabilities of one-on-one video and voice chat with instructors, teachers can actually increase the student's individualized attention. Last but not least, higher education often opens up just as many if not more job opportunities as bachelor's degrees, and typically at a much lower tuition cost and in a shorter time period. Whereas bachelor's degrees usually take three to four years to complete, an online associate degree can be earned in two years.
Those considering taking advantage of the many benefits of earning an associate degree online should first ensure they're up to certain responsibilities that they may not otherwise have in a classroom setting. At-home learners in particular need to stay motivated while studying online, as the flexibility it provides can lead to procrastination. Whereas students who attend courses in a classroom are typically unable to make up missed sessions, students who study online are often able to set their own sessions, which can easily result in an out-of-control workload.
Students who study toward earning their degrees online also need to take special measures for ensuring that distractions on the home-front are kept to a minimum. Television, email, instant messaging, texting, and people coming and going can pose distractions that might not otherwise be accepted in a classroom setting. Relying on technology for obtaining a degree also means having a high-speed Internet connection, stable hardware, and backing up data on a regular basis. Be prepared and you will succeed.

The Differences Between Online and Classroom Courses
Many students looking to go back to school have never taken an online course. They don't know what to expect. They are considering both online and classroom courses. Though the content will be similar in nature, the modality is very different. We are going to cover some of the major differences in online and classroom courses to help future students decide which is best for them.
Let's first start with classroom courses. Typically, a student will come to class 1-3 times per week and listen to an instructor give a lecture. Here, the students are able to answer questions, see their teammates, and usually meet after class if they have group work to complete. It is a very hands-on-experience. Most classes entail a lecture with PowerPoint slides followed by a question and answer session. Students enjoy learning this way because of the interaction with the professor and other students. Attendance is usually taken and counted for participation points. So if you do decide to attend a class on campus, make sure you can make all of the classes. Many schools offer night programs so someone working full-time can attend class after work.
Online courses are a little different. Students are usually attending class from all over the United States and even some overseas in the military. They are not able to meet their classmates or the professors. This can be an issue for a visual learner. Visual learners need the interaction with the professor and classmates to be successful. Another major difference is how assignments are turned in. In an online class everything is either emailed directly to the professor or posted in a discussion board. Discussion boards are in a blog format and used so students can communicate with each other online. Live chats are also an option, but the students would all have to be online at a specific time for it to work. This can be difficult because of different time zones and busy schedules. Remember, flexibility and convenience are the top two reasons students choose an online class.
As you can see there are many differences between online and on-campus classes. But, as stated before, course content is usually very similar. This is a good thing because you know you are learning the same material no matter which modality you choose. Do some research and see which one will be the best fit for you. Whichever you choose, make sure to dedicate some time to study, research, and complete exams on a weekly basis.

Online Business Courses - 4 Advantages They Provide
There are those of you who will somehow ask why there is a need to attend online business courses. Are they better than the real thing or the "classroom thing"? Are modules better teachers than people you deal with when you attend business classes in schools? Well, in order to appreciate the need to attend these online courses, it pays to take a look at the real advantages the venue offers.
First - You can attend the class at your own pace.
If you are a busy person attending to your usual daily activities including business endeavors, then you may no longer have the time to go to school and learn more about the latest in the industry. This is where a business online course vitally comes in.
This type of session will not pressure you to go to school according to schedules set by the university. It will not even stress you out since you do not have to proceed to the next course unless you have mastered the current module. Isn't it a breeze studying the ins and outs of business courses without all these pressures?
Second - You save time and money as well.
Imagine how much time it will take you to travel to school from your home or from your offices. This travel time can be eliminated if you use online business course opportunities instead. In fact, you can even use that time savings to learn more about the modules you are currently studying about in the online venue. And since you do not need to travel to go to school, you can save money on gas or commute fare as well.
Third - It also gives you the chance to establish relationships with others.
Some people have a wrong notion in mind when it comes to attending online business courses. That is the fact that there is no opportunity for personal interaction through these venues. Well, this is not the real case. The truth is that you are given the chance to meet other people using the online option. Plus, there is also someone you can talk to - a representative from the company - when you have problems with the module you are studying. Summing these things up, you also establish relationships with other people, the way you do if you attend the real school.
Fourth - You get to familiarize yourself with some of the best online tools.
Online courses offer both audio and virtual settings. You can also make use of written as well as video instructions through the site. These tools are very easy to use and most of the times, you will only be required to provide your personal email. From there, all other tools relevant to the course will be sent to that address.
It is indeed convenient using business online courses. They may not be set in a place that provides you that classroom atmosphere but they can deliver the promise of quality education as well.

How to Prepare For Online Education
Sometimes, you can't pursue higher education in the traditional manner. Thankfully, online education has matured to the point where it is a viable alternative. There are tried and tested methods and rules you must follow, just as in traditional on-campus education. These rules and methods prevent wasted time and help prevent bad decision making on your part.
What Field Of Study?
As in most important decisions, your choice of what field to study should be well thought out. Early on, you need to figure out what subjects of interest can build the foundation for your future degree. It is important to remember that learning should be enjoyable. If you pick a field of study you aren't really interested in, you may be excited at first, but you'll likely lose that excitement over time. According to many studies, we learn more (and retain what we've learned for a longer period of time) if we're interested in the subject of study.
Do Your Homework Ahead Of Time
Once you have decided in what field you would like to study, you should start looking for where to get an education, or a degree, in that field of study. The internet can help out a lot here. Look online for what's available. Take detailed notes on each option and put them in a spreadsheet.
Compare and Contrast Your Options
This review should be thorough. You don't want to rush through this. But you don't want to take too long, either. Make your list of pros and cons for each school, and pick the best fit for you, your lifestyle, and your goals. Things to consider include cost, graduation requirements, time required for each class, how many classes are required, when they are scheduled, and reputation of the instructors or faculty. If possible, you should set up a phone call with a director of the department you want to study in, and discuss your potential plans with him/her. You can often learn valuable information about a school in this manner. You may even learn the piece of information that tips the scales toward one school over another.
An Accredited School Is Important
Accreditation is very important for an online school, just as it is for a traditional school. Accreditation is a type of a quality control check on the school. If a school is accredited, that means it has met the requirements set up by an independent agency that evaluates schools.
Accreditation will also carry a lot of weight if you apply for grants or loans, especially if you're applying for a grant or loan from a government agency. The agency considering making you a loan won't want to give it to you if you are applying to a diploma factory that is barely a real school. You can also transfer any credits you earn to another school far more easily if the school is accredited. If it isn't accredited, this becomes much more difficult. It is also important to most employers. When you apply for a job, they'll look at your academic resume and if your school is accredited, it will be more impressive.
How Much Will This School Cost?
When making your pros and cons list, make sure you figure out if each potential school is Title IV funded. This means that the federal government may be willing to make you a loan to go to school. Some people must rely on this if they don't have funding available from their parents, from savings, or from their employer.
Decision
It is time now to complete the online form of your chosen school and send it in. However, your should write down all your questions before the school returns your call.
When they contact you, be sure all your questions are answered. You may request to put it in writing even in an email form. This is the time when you should seek and obtain further clarifications, if needed.
This is also the time to re-evaluate your choices. Some schools might hound you to make your decision. They are also in the business of making money and want to get you to commit first.
Make your commitment only when you are completely comfortable. Online education is a very important decision and should not be made lightly.

Education System in India
India is one of the largest democratic country in the world. Education system in India is having a huge demand because of its quality and systematic education procedures we are following. India's education sector is emerging fast with sparking demand for every one. Our Education system is the strongest and it will start from pre schooling age with excellent training methodologies with latest models like e-learning, Skill enhancements educational software drives, skills presentation, text books etc.
Indian government is spending a huge amount for education sector for every financial year. The amount spent is utilised in various methods by considering the minority and backward class people and also for poor people facing difficulty in receiving elementary schooling. Government is providing facilities to all kinds of people and the education market is going to hit $70 billions by the end of 2012.
Canon Law Society of America estimates that the total size of India's private education market could reach US$70 billion by 2012. Private education sector has started in mid 1990's and set up various schemes and one among them is that state governments will out source the supply of various Hardware and Software in various government and government aided schools. The funds for the out supply has been provided by central government under various schemes called ICT, SA, school programme etc. Various private companies have entered in to market With huge investments. The government is also encouraging various industrial institutes to offer academic and financial aid to private people. Many big companies like L&T, Microsoft etc are showing their interest in participation.
Education system in India is regulated at center as well as at state level too. These regulations vary from state to state. we are having two kinds of educational systems in India, Central board and State Board. Central Board of secondary education is being monitored by central government and State boards have their own education board systems. The Central Board is seeking affiliation that is managing a committee which is controlled by a trust and it should have non proprietary entries with out having any vested control by any individual or others. The trust will approve budgets for the financial year and also for tuition charges etc and the donations incurred to this board will be exempted under Income tax Act as this is meant for charitable purpose for promoting education but not for pursuing the profits on it.
State governments are mainly responsible for the establishment of state colleges and universities and also has power to approve the establishment of private universities as according to UGC Norms.
In order to Impart Professional and technical educational system in India A group of professional councils grouped together and established a council called All India Council For Technical Education in 1987. It promotes professional institutions and gives recognition to courses which comes under undergraduate programmes and provides the standard development of Technical education in India. These regulations continues to show its influence in Indian Education System. Irrespective of all these constraints the educational sector is achieving excellent potential growth with high standards.

Online Paralegal Programs - Choose the Best Education For Your Success
A career as a paralegal can prove to be very rewarding these days. It is no surprise then that several institution offer online paralegal programs. With a higher rate of unemployment nowadays, a diploma in paralegal studies will certainly give you an edge.
And make no mistake, there are very good schools offering online paralegal courses. The trick is to find one that suits your budget and offers a very good curriculum to prepare for your future career in law or even in other sectors like banking and finance.
With the onset of technological advances we have these days, taking up course has never been more easier. In fact, even way before you sign up for a program, you can have a look at many paralegal courses in the internet. At the click of the mouse, you can gather many information to aid you in choosing which school offers the best program in paralegal studies.
One thing I find of importance in choosing a school is its ABA (American Bar Association) accreditation. This is not a requirement for schools in offering paralegal programs online. However, schools who does have this certificate are generally better than those who doesn't. Schools has to meet the requirements set by the American Bar Association to be able to have this certificate. As a result, they have a higher standard of education.
So, depending on your purpose as well as your finances and availability of time you have several options when it comes to paralegal courses. A bachelor degree in paralegal may give the best edge but that is not to say that a certificate in paralegal studies will not work as well.
Also, when you decide to take up online paralegal programs, there are an array of courses you can choose from. You may opt for a degree in Associate of Applied Science in paralegal which usually take up 1-2 years to complete.
Other degrees include Bachelor of Science in Paralegal and Associate of Arts Degree in paralegal.A bachelor of science degree would take considerably longer than all courses. It could take up to 4 years generally to complete. A certificate in paralegal studies, however will only take up around 14 months to complete.
